St. George
St. George's 2024 Candidates
Jackie REILLY

Jackie has lived in Castle Point for over 36 years and has been an active member of the community.

She is a qualified local government accountant and work for several years for a large London Borough as the Housing Group Accountant.

She then moved on to lecturing in accountancy before starting a family. All her three children attended local schools and SEEVIC (USP) college. Her oldest daughter currently works at Canvey Library, her son as a Labour Party Organiser and her youngest daughter is a fitness instructor.

Jackie taught Mathematics at USP for several years and was a governor at three local schools. She was part of the Labour Administration of Castle Point Borough Council which produced the most recent Local Plan which meant that the Greenbelt has been protected since 1998. She was also Chair of the then Finance Committee, which means she has seen and understood Finance from both a councillor’s and Finance Officer’s perspective.

She is concerned that any house building in Castle Point should be on Brownfield sites and should be for affordable housing. Sadly, all the young people are moving away due to the lack of housing, whilst more and more 5 bedroom houses are built.

We need more bobbies on the beat whilst antisocial youth behaviour is on the increase, but equally she supports more provision for youth facilities.

Castle Point needs better.

Vote for the party that has put up the most candidates locally that can not only change Castle Point, but can change the country.
