Canvey Town Council
Canvey Island Town Council came into existence in 2007 with the first councillors being elected in the May of that year. From this point onwards, some of the powers and duties of the Castle Point Borough Council were transferred wholly or in part to the Town Council. Councillors are elected every four years, with the next election due to take place in 2027. The councillors are entitled to elect a Canvey Mayor.
