We will oppose any and all moves to sell GP surgeries American companies or any further privatisation of our NHS. The NHS is already on its knees and we should be investing not privatising.

Centene Corporation, an American health insurance giant, has just taken over 49 NHS GP surgeries and practices.

Protect our NHS

Labour has renewed calls for a plan to clear NHS waiting lists after it was revealed patients are waiting over 12 months to receive the treatment they need.

Conservative Government Ministers have boasted the NHS ‘coped’ through the peaks of COVID-19, but the reality is that to protect the NHS, local people have suffered in pain and discomfort and have gone without the treatment they need.

The NHS entered the health crisis after years of bed cuts, privatisation and chronic understaffing by Conservative governments. These issues haven’t gone away.

It has been revealed the Conservative Government has offered a below-inflation 1%increasefor NHS nurses and staff. Since 2010, the average salary of nurse and health workers has faced a real terms cut of £2,379 per year.
