Labour will make taxes fairer. The recent tax rise hits those who have suffered the most during the pandemic and protects those who are rich enough not to work and/or get their money through other types of income.
A nurse on £30,000 a year gets taxed 32% whereas someone who earns through selling stocks & shares gets taxed only 20%. This clearly isn’t fair.
Labour will tax those who can afford it and put money back into the pockets of working people.
The government spends £170 Billion on tax relief in the UK, more than healthcare! Labour would end tax breaks private schools enjoy because of their charitable status.
We’d also close the ‘carried interest loophole’ where private equity fund managers pockets tax breaks averaging £170,000.
If they don’t work for taxpayers and for our economy, then we will scrap them.
