St. James' Ward
Milton is twenty seven years old and has been a resident of Hadleigh all of his life. He attended local junior and secondary schools and is currently working full time for a large, well known company. Milton has been active within his community for most of his adult life and is committed to helping the most vulnerable people within his community and fighting for the best services for all residents.
I am writing to you as the Labour candidate for St James' ward. I have always lived in Castle Point and wish to devote my energy and enthusiasm for the benefit of residents in my local area. Although I am still young, 27, I have witnessed many changes in Castle Point. I remember a thriving Fire Station with fantastic open days. We met the firefighters and were inspired by their courage. We were also reassured that they would respond quickly to local emergencies keeping our town safe. I am worried we will lose our library, the beating heart of our community. We would lose access to knowledge through books and the internet. We would lose a warm, secure space where people meet, talk and share ideas. I want to work towards improving public transport. As someone who commutes to work by bus I know the value of an affordable, reliable service. One that is not threatened by cuts to services and rising prices. I want to keep our streets and roads safe. We need roads without potholes, pavements that are not trip hazards and street lights that stay on through the night. We need a Labour voice at Castle Point and I would be proud to represent you as one of your three Councillors, providing a healthy opposition view on your behalf.
